Sustainable Fashion: What Does it Really Mean?
Sustainable fashion has several aspects to it. It means to treat workers with fair policies, it means that companies and manufacturers have fair trade, it means that clothes are manufactured with local and eco-friendly materials, it also means that clothes are not produced for short term use and do not always end up in landfills.
Sustainable fashion is being achieved in the world. For example, H&M has started an initiative that encourages people to bring back their unwanted clothes to H&M shops where they will be treated by a machine called Looop in which the clothes are dissected back down into fibers and made into completely new clothes that can be worn again.
Sustainable fashion is also seen in how more and more firms choose to use local sources of materials to make fabric and use organic materials such as cotton instead of synthetic fibers which can cast more impact on the environment.
