Green Transportation: Reducing Your Environmental Impact

Green transportation is becoming increasingly important as a way to reduce one’s individual carbon footprint today. There are several ways in which green transportation can help one achieve this.

Firstly, by taking public transportation, one will share the emissions made by the bus or the metro with everyone that is using the same transportation method. The same emissions made to transport one individual across a certain distance is now doing everyone a favor and transporting every person on the vehicle to their destination. This thus reduces the need for everyone to drive in their own private cars and make many more multiples of the same emissions.

Secondly, by driving electric vehicles instead of traditional ones that burn fossil fuels, one can also reduce their carbon emissions. This is because of how electric vehicles do not emit carbon when they are operating. Instead, they take and use electricity stored in their battery and move their occupants without making any emissions.

Thirdly, one can always choose to transport via methods with completely no or very little emissions – walking or biking. On top of being a good way to exercise one’s body, these ways of transportation make nearly no emissions and are great for reducing one’s carbon footprint.
