Green Building Practices: Constructing for the Future

Green buildings are becoming increasingly important nowadays as the climate crisis becomes more of an urgent issue. Green buildings refer to ones that try to minimize their impact on the environment during construction, minimize energy consumption during use, and ensure the health of its occupants.

Green buildings usually involve insulation structures that allow its occupants to use less air conditioning in order to achieve a comfortable temperature inside the building. They are also often constructed with sustainable and local sources of materials that do not generate huge environmental impact while they are collected from nature and manufactured.

Not only can green buildings help improve the environmental sustainability of the community living within, it can also help them save costs by reducing their energy bills and even helping to reduce their water bills by providing rainwater harvesting structures which can be for domestic use.
